Empowering pharmaceutical and life science organizations with cutting-edge AI solutions.

Our Tulip Compliance & Validation Services

GAMP 5 Validation
Risk-based computer system validation for Tulip apps and connectors under GAMP 5 Second Edition — validation plan, URS, specifications, IQ/OQ/PQ, traceability matrix, and validation summary report.
21 CFR Part 11 Mapping
Explicit control-to-feature mapping for FDA Part 11 and EU Annex 11 — authentication, audit trails, electronic signatures, and record protection traced to tested controls an inspector can follow.
CSA-Aligned Testing
FDA Computer Software Assurance approach: scripted rigor on GMP-critical functions, lighter testing on low-risk features, so validation stays proportionate to a fast-iterating no-code platform.
App Governance & CoE
Environment separation, controlled production release, change control gated by impact assessment, and a center-of-excellence operating model that prevents validation drift at scale.
Data Integrity by Design
ALCOA+ controls baked into app design — enforced sequence, user attribution, immutable audit trails, and negative testing during PQ to prove records cannot be improperly altered.
AI Feature Validation
Validate Frontline Copilot and MCP agents as GAMP 5 software items with human-in-the-loop control points, bounded tool contracts, and full audit logging of every AI action.

A Risk-Based Validation Strategy

We apply GAMP 5 Second Edition and FDA Computer Software Assurance so effort is concentrated on GMP-critical functions. Tulip ships pre-validated LTS releases as a configured product, which bounds platform validation; your apps are validated on top with rigor scaled to risk. No-code means no source to review — validation accelerates without sacrificing rigor.

Governance That Prevents Drift

The central risk of no-code in GxP is uncontrolled change. We establish environment separation, a controlled production release process, and change control gated by impact assessment — backed by Tulip's built-in version control and the evidence in its Trust Center. A center-of-excellence operating model with a shared component library keeps the validated state intact as the app estate grows across stations and sites.

Data Integrity to ALCOA+

Every app is designed around ALCOA+ data integrity principles, aligned to FDA and cGMP data integrity guidance. Enforced sequence, captured attribution, immutable audit trails, and deliberate negative testing during PQ prove that records are attributable, contemporaneous, and protected from unauthorized edits.

Validation Deliverables for Tulip

Validation Plan & Risk Assessment

A validation plan defining scope, GAMP categorization, and approach, plus a documented risk assessment that drives where scripted testing rigor is applied versus lighter CSA-style verification.

URS & Specifications

User requirements specification capturing every GMP-critical function, with functional and configuration specifications for each app, connector, and integration in scope.

IQ / OQ / PQ Protocols

Installation, operational, and performance qualification protocols with executed evidence, including negative testing of data integrity controls and electronic signature behavior.

Traceability Matrix

A requirements traceability matrix linking each user requirement to its specification, test case, and result — the backbone an inspector follows from requirement to evidence.

Part 11 Control Mapping

An explicit mapping of 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 requirements to the specific Tulip controls and configuration that satisfy them, with test references for each.

Validation Summary Report

A summary report concluding the validated state, documenting deviations and their resolution, and defining the periodic review and revalidation triggers for ongoing control.

Shared Responsibility for Compliance

Part 11 and GxP compliance for any cloud platform is a shared responsibility between vendor and customer. Understanding the boundary is essential to an efficient, defensible validation. Tulip supplies platform controls and supplier evidence through its Trust Center; you own configuration, process, and operational controls. We assess Tulip as a supplier to leverage its evidence and concentrate your validation where it genuinely adds assurance.

Tulip Provides

GxP-ready platform controls, pre-validated LTS releases, change documentation, SOC 2 and ISO 9001 evidence, and qualified cloud infrastructure.

You Own

App configuration validation, process SOPs, user access governance, change control, and demonstrating your processes use the controls correctly.

Why Validate Tulip with IntuitionLabs

Pharma-Native CSV Expertise

Computer system validation is our core discipline — GAMP 5, CSA, Part 11, and Annex 11 applied across MES, LIMS, QMS, and clinical platforms, not generic IT validation.

AI-First Differentiator

We are uniquely positioned to validate AI features like Frontline Copilot and MCP agents, an area most validation firms have no framework for yet.

Connector Validation

We validate the integrations — SAP, LabVantage, historians, Table API — as first-class objects with regression tests, not as an afterthought.

No-Code Governance

A center-of-excellence operating model that solves the validation-drift problem specific to no-code platforms, keeping the estate inspection-ready as it scales.

Proportionate Testing

CSA-aligned, risk-based testing keeps validation fast and proportionate so the agility that made you choose Tulip is not lost to documentation.

Inspection-Ready Evidence

A traceable package built to anticipate FDA, EMA, MHRA, and PMDA questions, with a clear requirement-to-evidence trail for every control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tulip provides the technical controls required by 21 CFR Part 11 — secure authentication, role-based access, audit trails, electronic signatures, and version-controlled records — described in its GxP-Ready capabilities and Part 11 guide. But Part 11 is a shared responsibility: the platform supplies the controls, and you must validate your specific apps and demonstrate your processes use them correctly. We deliver the validation evidence and an explicit Part 11 control-to-feature mapping so an inspector can trace each requirement to a tested control.
We apply GAMP 5 Second Edition with a risk-based, layered approach. Tulip itself ships pre-validated LTS releases with documented change records via the Trust Center, which bounds platform-level validation as a GAMP Category 4 configured product. Your individual apps are validated on top as configured or custom items, with rigor scaled to risk. The no-code model actually accelerates validation because there is no hand-written code to review — but it raises governance risk, which we address with environment separation and change control.
A complete package: a validation plan, user requirements specification (URS), functional and configuration specifications, a risk assessment, IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and executed evidence, a requirements traceability matrix, a Part 11 and Annex 11 control mapping, and a validation summary report. For connectors and the Tulip API integrations we add interface specifications and automated regression tests. The package is structured to be inspection-ready and to support efficient periodic review and revalidation as apps evolve.
FDA's Computer Software Assurance (CSA) guidance promotes critical thinking and risk-based testing over exhaustive documentation. This is especially well suited to a no-code, frequently-iterated platform like Tulip: we focus rigorous, scripted testing on high-risk, GMP-critical functions and use lighter unscripted or ad-hoc testing for low-risk features. CSA, combined with GAMP 5 Second Edition, lets us keep validation proportionate so the agility of the platform is not lost to paperwork.
This is the central governance challenge of no-code in GxP. We establish environment separation (development, test, production), restrict production edits to a controlled release process, and gate every change through a GAMP 5 impact assessment that decides whether a change triggers regression testing or full revalidation. Tulip's built-in version control and validation tooling provide the technical backbone; we supply the procedural governance and a center-of-excellence operating model so the validated state holds as the app estate grows.
We design Tulip apps around ALCOA+ principles — data must be attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original, accurate, and complete, consistent, enduring, and available. That means enforced sequence so entries cannot be back-dated, captured user attribution on every action, immutable audit trails, and protection against unauthorized edits. This aligns to FDA data integrity guidance and cGMP data integrity Q&A. We verify these controls during PQ with deliberate negative testing.
Each interface — SAP, the LabVantage connector, a historian feed, or a custom Table API integration — is treated as a validated object with its own interface specification, test cases, and acceptance criteria. We verify data is transferred completely and accurately in both directions, that error and exception paths behave correctly, and that the audit trail spans the boundary. Automated regression tests guard against silent breakage when either system changes. This follows Tulip's own guidance on planning MES and ERP integrations.
The validation package supports the major GxP regimes: FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and cGMP, EU GMP Annex 11, and for sterile lines the revised EU GMP Annex 1. The same evidence base supports inspections by the FDA, EMA, MHRA, PMDA, and TGA. We also align quality processes to ICH Q10.
We treat AI as a GAMP 5 software item and validate the system around the non-deterministic component. The intended use is defined precisely, the model is constrained through a tool contract, testing uses a representative input suite with documented acceptance criteria, and any GMP-record-changing action requires human approval — so the validated control point is the human sign-off. Every AI action is audited. This risk-based stance is consistent with CSA and our audit trail requirements for AI in GxP analysis. See our Tulip AI integration page.
Tulip's Trust Center documents third-party audits including SOC 2 Type II, an ISO 9001:2015 certified QMS, and FedRAMP-aligned controls per NIST SP 800-53, on infrastructure with documented GxP qualification. These cover the platform and supplier; they reduce but do not replace your validation obligation. We incorporate supplier assessment of Tulip into the validation rationale to leverage this evidence efficiently.
Because Tulip is no-code and CSA-aligned, validating a single well-scoped app — an electronic logbook or weigh-and-dispense station — typically takes a few weeks, far faster than validating a monolithic MES module. The platform-level supplier assessment is done once and reused. Subsequent apps reuse validated components and connectors, so the marginal validation effort drops as the estate grows. We front-load the validation plan and risk assessment so execution is fast and predictable, and we build periodic review into the operating model rather than treating revalidation as a project.
We begin with a validation strategy workshop: we assess your current state, define the GAMP categorization of the platform and your planned apps, agree the risk-based testing approach under GAMP 5 and CSA, and produce a validation plan with deliverables, roles, and timeline. From there we execute the package alongside your QA and validation teams. Book a working session through our book a meeting page or return to the Tulip services hub.
