OVERVIEW

Open-source, web-based platform for collecting Computerized Patient-Reported Outcomes (cPRO) for clinical and research use.

cPRO (computerized Patient-Reported Outcome) is an open-source software platform developed and continuously maintained by the Clinical Informatics Research Group (CIRG) at the University of Washington (UW). Initiated in 2001, cPRO serves as a foundational tool for UW's Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) work, offering a flexible, web-based system for collecting patient-reported data.

The platform is designed to support both research and clinical projects by providing interactive, domain-specific health assessments and interventions. Key capabilities include clinically-relevant, remote, and point-of-care PRO assessments, as well as tools for self-management and behavior change interventions built on the collected data.

cPRO is engineered to meet the unique needs of patients, clinicians, and researchers. As an open-source project, it is freely available on GitHub. The software is built as a CakePHP web application, and approximately 30-40 cPRO systems have been deployed for use by clinical and research teams domestically and internationally.
