NMIS

NMIS, or Nuclear Medicine Information System (also known as BioDose/NMIS), is a comprehensive software solution developed by ec² Software Solutions (now Mirion Medical) to manage the complex operations of Nuclear Medicine departments. Created in 1985, the system replaces traditional paper records with electronic ones, ensuring documented and traceable records for enhanced patient care and regulatory adherence. The core functionality centers around radiopharmaceutical tracking, allowing departments to track doses from their arrival through disposition, maintain a complete digital history of all exams and doses a patient receives, and manage inventory in real-time. The software is designed for effortless compliance with state and federal regulations, automatically generating daily and monthly inspection reports, which are designed to make inspectors self-sufficient when they arrive unannounced. Key features include a sophisticated reporting module, online dose ordering, and the Injection Confirmation Scan (ICS) mobile application (iOS/Android) for confirming the right dose is administered to the right patient. The Enterprise Edition is specifically designed for multi-location hospital groups, allowing data to reside on a central server for easy management and data sharing across facilities. It supports seamless bi-directional integration with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) via HL7 and DICOM interfaces.
