Stamurai is the world's largest digital therapy app for stammering, trusted by over 100,000 people in 180+ countries. It offers a comprehensive, one-stop stuttering treatment program for all ages, designed to be an accessible and affordable alternative to traditional in-person speech therapy. The app provides a customized, step-by-step training plan that incorporates the latest evidence-based practices, including:
- Fluency Shaping: Techniques like Easy Onsets, Light Articulatory Contacts, and Slowed Speech.
- Stuttering Modification: Strategies such as Pull Outs, Preparatory Sets, and Cancellations to reduce physical tension and manage disfluencies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Counseling tools and guided meditations to address the emotional aspects of stuttering, such as fear and anxiety.
Key features include a library of over 50 tools, instructional videos for more than 30 speech exercises, and the Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) tool to help compensate for auditory processing defects. Users can practice reading aloud, record their voice for disfluency analysis, and track their progress with scientific assessments and daily statistics. To simulate real-life speaking situations and build confidence, Stamurai hosts moderated group video calls, allowing users to practice their techniques with other users in a safe and supportive environment. The platform is an initiative by IIT alumni and is supported by major investors like Google for Startups and Prosus.
