Oracle Health Emergency Medicine is a specialized module within the Oracle Health EHR suite (formerly Cerner Millennium) designed to meet the fast-paced, high-stakes demands of the Emergency Department (ED). It helps ED clinicians and support staff document patient care efficiently, manage patient flow, and ensure accurate charge capture.
The solution provides clinicians with near real-time access to patient demographics, health alerts, and a comprehensive health record, minimizing clicks and supporting timely decision-making. A key feature is the Emergent Event capability, which consolidates complex documentation, such as trauma documentation, into a single, intuitive view to drive workflow efficiencies.
The system seamlessly integrates departmental tracking, user-friendly documentation, and capacity reporting into the broader EHR, simplifying daily operations. Recent enhancements focus on crisis management, including new capabilities for mass patient transfers, dynamic bed management (e.g., creating and removing disaster beds), and evacuation planning to help hospitals respond rapidly to emergency situations.
Built on a cloud-native architecture (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), the platform leverages embedded AI, such as the Oracle Clinical Digital Assistant, for voice-driven navigation and automated documentation to reduce clinician burnout and administrative burden.
