AMR Action Fund

The AMR Action Fund is a global, industry-led venture capital initiative launched by over 20 leading biopharmaceutical companies, charitable organizations, and development banks. Its mission is to address the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis by investing over US$1 billion into small and medium-sized biotech companies to accelerate the clinical development of 2-4 new, innovative antibiotics by 2030. Beyond direct investment, the Fund provides technical support to its portfolio companies and advocates for market-based policy reforms—such as the PASTEUR Act—to create a sustainable economic ecosystem for antibiotic R&D. It acts as a critical bridge for late-stage clinical development, where funding gaps often stall the progress of life-saving antibacterial treatments.
